MEXMÛR- On February 15, young people living in Maxmur started a hunger strike for the physical freedom of Leader Apo. There are 15 young people in the 8th group of the hunger strike. Dicle Benek and Dilvin Seven, who joined the hunger strike, spoke to our agency on behalf of the group. Dicle Benek and Dilvin Seven talked about the February 15 International Conspiracy and the physical freedom of Leader Apo.
Dicle Benek stated the following;
“25 years ago, our Leader was arrested by an international conspiracy. It is our duty to fight for the physical freedom of Leader Apo. Leader APO has been a light to all segments of society, this conspiracy was made because his thoughts and philosophy were feared. Önder Apo said, “We started with the youth, we will succeed young”.
Dilvin Seven, who took part in the hunger strike, mentioned the following in her speech;
“The international conspiracy was carried out by international forces. On February 15, 1999, the entire Kurdish community in the person of Leader Apo was taken prisoner. The AKP-MHP fascist government did not want Leader Apo’s ideas and philosophy to spread to the world with this conspiracy. The occupying state wanted to destroy the hope the Leader had built. Because the truth of the Leadership became a light. The capture of Leader Apo led to serhildans and sacrifice actions. As is known, a strike against the isolation was launched in Maxmur. As young people, we were in the 8th group. Leader Apo has defined every young person as a pioneer, therefore, we as young people, both in isolation and in conspiracy. Until Leader Apo regains his physical freedom, we are not free as young people, we are in isolation. We call on everyone to be a voice against isolation. In this process, two of our friends set fire to the physical freedom of Leader Apo and said, ‘Let the fire of our body illuminate the island of Imrali’. We salute their action, and we will follow in the footsteps of their resistance.
